Our Story...

Like many people nowadays, Raj and I met through an app, Coffee meets Bagel. Every time I used the app, it gave me more beans. I was smart and used them for new matches. You could say I paid precious beans to match with Raj (and so that’s my dowry). We matched and started talking immediately. Raj is amazing to talk to and unlike most other people, he asked me deep questions and always responded in kind. Texting, alone, was so much fun that my face would light up every time I saw a notification from him. I was elated when he finally asked me out on a date. He gave me plenty of options and did so much leg work. I was so excited but also so anxious.

I got ready and put on my favorite pea-coat (that Maansi not-so-secretly hates). I got to the restaurant and waited. And waited. And waited. At this point, I have tried calling and texting Maansi to no avail. Finally, 25 minutes in, she tells me she’s almost here. It’s safe to say I was ticked off was ready to leave and never speak to her again. But she walked in and we immediately fell into conversation and deciding on food. By the end of the night, I had already asked her for another date and she had happily agreed.

Over the next few months, we kept meeting up and our love for food, movies, TV shows, and music brought us closer together. We had covered all the serious topics and met families. And finally, in October 2019, we got engaged at Scarborough Bluffs.

Raj took our pictures and proposed with the ring of my dreams.

And Maansi suggested we should get married till basically the last minute leading up to the proposal. But then, of course, she was so happy, she cried.

This whole time, we have taken some pretty huge steps and there is no one else with whom either of us could do all this. It has been a whirlwind and we are so excited to share our lives together. No matter where we are, as long as we are with each other, we are home.
